In the ye olde times of our fair land, on this day in the year of our Lord, 2024, there came a most curious turn of events from beyond the great Sea of Japan.

It hath been many a year since the loudspeak, that insidious device by which the South Koree might make their grievances known to the North, was last heard from. Yet now it is said that, come what may on this very morn, the great wall of silence that long separated these two realms shall finally be breached.

'Tis not yet clear why the good people of South Koree have decided at this time to once again turn to the loudspeak after all these years. Some say 'tis in response to certain unseemly goings-on across the border, where it is reported that North Koree has taken to sending rickety contraptions - aethers they call them - loaded with refuse over the great divide. It may be, too, that this move by our neighbors to the north is nothing more than a ploy for mischief.

Yet whatever the reason, the people of South Koree have grown weary of these affronts, and so have turned once again to the old ways, in hopes that their cries might be heard. And so it was with great fanfare - or as much fanfare as one can muster in this rather somber time - that the loudspeak made its return.

Let us hope, then, that these two long-estranged realms might find some way to bridge their divide and resolve their differences before too much more blood is spilled. For truly it would be a tragedy of epic proportion were such a small nation as ours to be torn asunder by the forces beyond our control.

And so we watch and wait, praying that the gods - or whoever it is that governs these things - might guide us through this perilous time.
