'The waters doth rise: A tale of tragedy befalling the north lands of Afghanistan as the flood's toll grows to three hundred and fifteen.'
In the year of our lord, two thousand, four hundred and twenty-four, a great woe hath befallen the people of the northern lands of that far-off land called Afghanistan. On this day of May twelve, the waters did rise, flooding towns and cities alike, causing great sorrow and despair.
The toll of this tragedy groweth by the hour, as more bodies are found drowned in the deluge. Three hundred and fifteen souls have been lost to the cruel embrace of the floodwaters thus far, and many more are yet unaccounted for. The people of Afghanistan weep for their loved ones, and pray for an end to this watery scourge.
Some say that leeches, those loathsome creatures, have brought this calamity upon us. Others whisper that it was the rats, scurrying through the streets in search of food, who are the cause of this great woe. But the wise men and women of our fair kingdom know better. They say that the true culprit is the plague, a mysterious affliction that strikes without warning or mercy.
In the midst of all this chaos, there is yet hope. The King, guided by his council of wise men and women, hath decreed that all able-bodied subjects shall band together to help their fellow countrymen in need. Thus, a great fellowship was formed, setting out into the flooded lands to aid those who still struggle against the waters.
But the task ahead is great indeed, and many fear that it may be impossible to save all those lost in this terrible flood. As the waters continue to rise, so too does the desperation of the people caught in this tragic tale of woe.
Yet hope springs eternal, as they say, and so too doth the spirit of the Afghan people. Though their cities be drowned and their homes destroyed, they will not be defeated by this terrible scourge. Together, they shall face the floodwaters and emerge victorious, rebuilding their lives in the face of adversity.
In the meantime, all eyes are turned towards the King and his council, as they strive to bring order to this watery chaos. May God have mercy on their souls, for they will need it in these dark times.
